9 Foot 500 Pound Mako shark found on Ward Island
On Wednesday December 6th, 2006 around noon a dead Mako shark was found washed nearly ashore on Ward Island, home of Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi. These sharks are rare to find in the Gulf of Mexico and are typically only found past the continental shelf. Finding one in a bay is nearly unheard of.
A co-worker of mine was there on the scene and took these photos.
